Everyone, in every position within Mid-State Special Education, is focused upon student achievement and well-being. We are committed to providing high quality, cost effective programs and services that: meet the individualized needs of each child increase student achievement promote the well-being of each child incorporate educational best practices support collaboration among professionals make the best use of all our resources uphold the dignity of each child empower students to lead productive and fulfilling lives encourage and respect parent involvement are delivered with integrity Mid-State Special Education, located in Central Illinois, is a four county joint agreement, which provides services to children with special needs, ages 3 through 21 inclusive, who reside in the 16 member school districts. Mid-State offers a full continuum of services and staff, dedicated to providing appropriate special education services within the least restrictive environment. Approximately 3000 students receive special education services from member districts, which have a combined enrollment of about 16,000 students. Mid-State is divided into three service regions: Bond/Fayette Region, Christian Region, and Montgomery/Carlinville Region.
