Mission College
Mission College is committed to providing our students with the foundation they need to succeed in higher education. Our programs and services foster the reading, writing, communication, math and study skills required in the 21st Century. Basic skills are those foundation skills in reading, writing, mathematics, learning skills, study skills, and English as a Second Language which are necessary for students to succeed in college-level work. Teaching basic skills requires us to work together across departments, disciplines and services. Mission College is committed to providing students with the cognitive and meta-cognitive skills to achieve competency in the basic skills. The Mission College Basic Skills Blogs is a virtual space where faculty and staff can explore and discuss current trends, events, and research in developmental education.
