Mole-Richardson
Mole-Richardson Co. was founded in 1927 by electrical engineer Peter Mole, design engineer Elmer C. Richardson, and chief studio electrician Fielding C. Coates. Starting from a machine shop in the rear of a garage on Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood, Mole-Richardson immediately became the leader in incandescent lighting. Mole has published many articles on lighting for the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Science, the American Society of Cinematographers as well as the Society of Motion Picture and Television Engineers. The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts & Sciences has also awarded Mole the Certificates of Honorable Mention four times for their innovative work in Entertainment lighting. The company is and has always been known as the technological leader in Entertainment lighting.
