Mountain Project

Mountain Project Inc. was founded in 2005 by two longtime climbing buddies and business partners, Andy Laakmann and Nick Wilder. Our vision is to take climbing beta beyond the guidebook, adding personalization and community features that add context and rich exploration to popular climbing sites across North America. Mountainproject.com is the second generation of a web site originally created by Myke Komarnitsky in 2000. Starting with climbingboulder.com, the site was cloned for many sister sites, including climbingjtree.com, climbingbayarea.com, and climbingmoab.com among others. In 2005, Myke decided to pursue an MBA degree full time and, in partnership with Andy and Nick, contributed the data to Mountain Project.
