Mike Pruitt Honda

Mike Pruitt was born and raised in Chicago, Illinois. He attended Purdue University, where he played football for all four years. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration. After college, Mike was then drafted number one overall pick by the Cleveland Browns in 1976. His football career in the NFL lasted eleven years, nine of which were with the Cleveland Browns. Mike is the Cleveland Browns third all-time leading rusher in Browns history, with over 6,500 rushing yards. He was chosen to the Pro Bowl twice in his career and Cleveland Browns most valuable player in 1980. He retired from the NFL in 1987 with over 9,500 all-purpose yards. In 2001, Mike was inducted into the Cleveland Sports Hall of Fame and recognized as a pillar in Cleveland Sports history. After his NFL career Mike attended Ford Motor Company's dealer training program. And in 1990 he purchased his first dealership in Lima, Ohio, naming it Mike Pruitt Ford along with a Lincoln-Mercury, Mazda dealership. During his time in Lima, Ohio Mike Pruitt Ford became one of the largest selling dealerships in northeast Ohio. In October of 2001, Mike then purchased Rick Case Honda in Akron, Ohio, which is now named Mike Pruitt Honda. Mike has recently built a new state of the art, eco-friendly dealership in Akron, Ohio located along Route 8, between Howe Avenue and Cuyahoga Falls Avenue.
