Metal Technology Group

MTG is a corporate group consolidating four foundries located in Bulgaria, all specialised in the production of different types of castings, using a specific technology. The group was established in 1997, however, before this time all the foundries had their own separate life and during the years of privatisation of the metalurgical sector in Bulgaria, they were privatised and became part of the holding group. The structure of the corporate group can be visualised as follows: Alucom was established in 1973 and until 1990 supplied aluminium castings for the military, engine trucks and the machine-building industry in Bulgaria and the countries of the Council for Mutual Economic Assistance (CMEA). Arma is a foundry for shell castings and investment castings of steel, grey cast iron and nodular cast iron and for production of ball valves and PTFE (Teflon) parts. The factory was established in 1971 for the production of steel castings and ball valves for industrial applications. Currently the production range includes: production of steel ball valves, steel and cast iron castings, tetrafluoroethylene coating of metal parts and tetrafluoroethylene products. Three casting methods are used for the production of steel and cast iron castings - shell casting, investment (lost-wax) casting and sand casting. Ossam is a sand casting foundry for grey cast iron castings, nodular or ductile cast iron castings and ADI (austampered ductile iron) castings. Ossam is able to produce both blank castings as well as fully-machined parts. he foundry was created for casting malleable cast iron - a material with complex technology and high power consuming production. Since 1985 it has become the biggest and the most modern plant for production of ductile cast iron castings on the Balkan Peninsula. After the privatization in 1997 Ossam became a member company of Metal Technology Group.
