Mountain Chalet

Mountain Chalet is the only locally owned mountaineering store in Colorado Springs and has been at the same location, downtown, since 1968. Unlike big chain stores that are run from afar, the Chalet is an independent mountain shop with 40 years of experience specific to the Pikes Peak region. Our goal is to provide the highest quality outdoor clothing and equipment in a comfortable atmosphere with a knowledgeable, friendly staff. We have loyal customers because we do just about anything to help you enjoy your outdoor adventures. Our emphasis is climbing, hiking, camping, and backcountry skiing. The Chalet staff members are outdoor fanatics and can speak from firsthand experience for advice on gear, clothing, and places to go for your type of fun. We also offer rental and demo gear, including climbing shoes, backcountry skis, cross-country skis, packs, snowshoes, tents, and more. Finally, Mountain Chalet is dedicated to giving back to our community and to helping protect our local wilderness and open spaces.
