As Executive Chairman, Mr. Kuan drives Mun&s;s business, strategy and operations, developing the company&s;s interests in emerging markets and local industries around the world by always driving for quality, consistency, reliability and excellent service. In the late 60s, Mr. Kuan&s;s career began in property development, specialising in upper-class residential units. Later, in 1978, he founded a textiles company that pioneered in the manufacture of woven labels and badges. In 1981, with considerable experience from innovating weaving processes, he formed Hartalega to make premium quality latex gloves for medical markets. Mr. Kuan&s;s vision is always to manufacture high-quality products, and he established a set of management values that encouraged care, quality, creativity and innovation, selecting only the highest skilled, most passionate people to work with the company values that endure to this day at Mun. He has a formidable background in the industry, having previously served as Technical Manager of Hartalega Sdn Bhd, where he developed engineering designs, process improvements and change controls, all with an emphasis on cost reduction, equipment efficiency and technical innovation. Mun Leong holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Monash University and a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Strathclyde Business School.
