Newport Utilities

Since 1940, when the City of Newport purchased the electrical system from the Tennessee Valley Authority, Newport Utilities has expanded its base into water delivery and wastewater treatment. Today, Newport Utilities is a model provider in East Tennessee. Newport Utilities employs some ninety local folks, with an average of twenty-two years of service. That speaks highly of its Cocke County work ethic and the dedication of its employees. Whether it be an electrical lineman, an office staff person, any of its engineers, or one of its administrative personnel; the customer will be assured that its needs will be met with prompt service and professionalism. Newport Utilities mission is to provide quality electric, water, and wastewater services reliable, timely, and courteous at the lowest reasonable cost.
