NextID

NextID is focused on providing patients with the autonomy of a self-sovereign identity. Each patient enjoys complete control over granting and revoking permission to their medical records. The NextID application enables management of several identity facets or personas, one of which is the 'base' and the others are 'branches' (as in a tree). Each facet will have its own keys in the wallet, so that they may be shared selectively. The private key will be linked to a decentralised id and the public key is permanently linked to a shareable tag. Each NextID user will have a wallet, which is used to store personal data securely. The data will be recorded on distributed storage with high-grade encryption, and records will be anchored to the blockchain with a verification hash. At any time, the user can delete these records (but not the verification hash). This balances privacy with transparency. The NextID Health application runs on a mobile device or browser. It provides identity management, portability of medical records, access to second opinions, participation in patient-led registries, and empowerment by giving each patient a voice in their own care.
