For the past several years, NMT has been researching and testing Visible Implant Elastomer (VIE) formulas that are mixed in a 1:1 ratio. In January, 2008, after 18 months of intensive testing, we began selling a formula that seemed to meet all of our specifications. However, we have since seen inconsistent performance with regard to the time that the mixed material remains useable, sometimes as short as 10 minutes. In spite of our best efforts, we are unable to correct this problem. We have therefore stopped all research and sales of the 1:1 VIE and will continue permanently with the 10:1 VIE.
