North Data was founded in 2011 as Biz-Q UG by entrepreneur and mathematician Frank Felix Debatin. In summer 2016, Karweg Ventures and Kölmel Management Group invested in the company. It was renamed North Data GmbH and entered into a strategic partnership with Echobot Media Technologies GmbH. The company is based in Hamburg, Germany.
