O'Connor Plumbing & Heating is a family owned and operated company serving the Greater Washington Area since 1949. We are dedicated to exceeding customer expectations. Tom O'Connor, owner, has been in the plumbing industry since 1949, when he began working for his father, George, a Master Plumber and small business owner. George O'Connor had a "pay it forward" mentality and worked a broad range of jobs with the belief of a fair day's wages for a job well done. He, and later Tom, held Master Plumber licenses, working in homes, apartments, churches, hospitals, ground up projects, office buildings and recently professional sports stadiums. Tom has Master Plumber licenses in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia, as well as with the Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC). He maintains his father's belief that quality work by highly trained individuals at a fair price is the cornerstone of O'Connor Plumbing & Heating's success. Tom continues to be an active participant in the field and thrives on the troubleshooting and problem solving aspects of the plumbing trade. His "hands on" approach to ownership is inspirational to everyone in the company. "The thing I enjoy most is fixing a customer's problem with teamwork and participating in the completion of a challenging job." In 1999, Tom's sons, Tommy and Kevin, joined the family business. Tommy worked with his dad as a plumber in the field until the O'Connor Service Department needed a full time manager. Tommy is now responsible for all facets of the growing service department. Kevin came to the business shortly thereafter. He had spent several years in real estate, developing relationships throughout the area and stepped in as CFO and Director of Business Development. As the O'Connors blended their skills, the family business flourished, with a growing staff dedicated to serving the community. "The goal is not to grow just for the sake of growth, but to provide more customers with the quality service that we believe all customers deserve. Former Super Bowl Champion, Ron Saul of the Washington Redskins, joined the team after recognizing that the O'Connors are the area's #1 plumbing company, performing championship quality work. We service many apartment and condominium communities throughout the DC Metro Area including: Federal Capital Partners, Gates Hudson, Lerner Corporation, Post Properties, The Donaldson Group and United Dominion Realty. Our growth and success has allowed O'Connor Plumbing & Heating to form a strong bond with our neighbors in the Washington area and is committed to giving back to our community. O'Connor's Shamrock Charities donates thousands of dollars annually to people and organizations in need. Many recipients are victims of our difficult economic times, physically or mentally challenged individuals or children who need a proper role model.
