Tomahawk offers both AM and PM half-day kindergarten. Parents may choose to apply for our full-day kindergarten class, which is fee-based and limited to 23 students. Assignments to the fee-based class at Tomahawk are made at the district level by lottery each year. Tomahawk offers Early Childhood classes for preschool aged children. Our class for 3-year-olds is in the morning, and 4-year-olds attend in the afternoon. Enrollment for Early Childhood classes is handled through the district's Harmony Early Childhood Center, 913-780-7015. Tomahawk serves special needs students through Lifeskills classes, offered for students in both primary and intermediate grades. Tomahawk is an ELL site for the school district, serving English Language Learners in the Tomahawk and Havencroft attendance areas. Tomahawk students attend special classes in PE, music, library, art, computer, and Spanish. Band and Strings classes are available to fifth grade students. Tomahawk offers breakfast every morning between 8:00 and 8:20. Available daily is a Grab-and-Go breakfast of milk/juice and a cold food item such as cereal, granola bars, or muffins. Three days a week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday) we also offer a hot breakfast. Hot lunch is served daily.
