Omirou & Omirou L.L.C. is one of the oldest law firms in Pafos and because of our morals and principles, experience and professionalism is one of the most prestigious law firms as well. Although the firm has its main office in Pafos, it has associates in Limassol, Larnaca and Nicosia. Omirou & Omirou L.L.C. has a rich tradition of professional and public service. The two founders of the firm were: Andreas L. Omirou (1946 - 2007). He studied law at the National Kapodestrian University of Athens. Andreas Omirou was Member of the Municipal Council of Pafos for twenty years and President of the Pafos District Committee of Movement of Social Democrats EDEK. Yiannakis L. He studied law at the National Kapodestrian University of Athens. During his studies in Greece he was actively involved in the student union movement and the anti-junta struggle. He took part in the sit-in at the Law School and in the Polytechnic School uprising. He and his brother Andreas Omirou resisted the coup of 15 July 1974 as editors and broadcasters at the Pafos Free Radio Station. As a result, he was arrested and imprisoned by the coupists. In 1998 he was appointed Minister of Defence of the Republic of Cyprus but resigned on 4 February 1999, following his disagreement with the government decision to cancel the stationing of the S 300 Russian missile system in Cyprus. He is member of the House of Representatives since 1981. We still remain committed to public service. At the municipal elections of December 2011, Lazaros A. Omirou, co-partner of the firm, was elected Member of the Municipal Council of Paphos standing as a Movement of Social Democrats EDEK candidate.
