Orbis was born out of 3 years of pioneering web design for one of the first web portal start-ups of 1995 with a mission to create great website architecture. At The Plastics Network in 1995, we had Netscape and Newsweek visit our downtown Chicago offices, yet we still had to mail hard copy lead requests to many clients without online access. By 1998, every single attendant at The National Plastics Exposition (NPE) had a website which we, The PlasticsNetwork had not built. It was time to establish a business that would help companies build great websites. Websites were grass huts in 1995. The database was the skyscraper. We've labored intensively from day one to create an architecture for great digital content. We've worked with ad agencies, small, midsize and publicly traded organizations, learning and absorbing everything we can in going about that mission. We are still in the beginning stages of the most pervasive evolution in communications history. But standards and bankable patterns are emerging - most notably in personal devices and social media channels.
