Orkney Islands Council

Orkney Islands Council, established in 1974, is the local authority responsible for Orkney Islands. The council takes on a variety of tasks from schools to the care of the elderly, from rubbish collection to maintaining the countys roads and from caring for burial grounds to handling planning applications.
