Ottawa Friendship House Agency

Ottawa Friendship House is a nonprofit organization providing supportive services for adults with developmental disabilities. The agency has been proactive in addressing budget shortfalls through careful strategic planning. Reducing spending wherever possible to operate within our budget allows the agency to continue providing the vital services to adults in programs. The Illinois Clean Energy Grant provides ongoing energy saving to the organization. The agency was awarded $10,640 by the Illinois Energy to replace the lighting in the workshop, administration building and cafeteria. A matching grant from Ameren IP was also secured reducing the costs of the materials. The project was completed in February with projected utility saving of 50% or more. The agency is pleased that they had the opportunity to improve the energy efficiency of the agency while doing its part to be a greener more earth friendly agency.
