Ottawa Valley Grain Products

Ottawa Valley Grain Products is a family owned and operated business started by Nat Lindsay in 1929. Lindsay, a local farmer in the Ottawa Valley began by purchasing wheat, oats and barley from Castleford, Goshen and Glascow farmers for resale in Montreal. He also bought soup peas from local farms for export markets including West Indies, Norway, Finland, Great Britain, Indonesia and Africa. Ottawa Valley Grain products was the first supplier of soup peas to Habitant. After purchasing a small flour mill in Renfrew, Ontario, the company soon expanded specializing in registered seed sales, split pea processing and feed manufacturing. As Ottawa Valley Grain continued to grow, it was passed down through the generations. Nat's two sons, Allan and Earl, ran the company for many years, and expanded to numerous other locations. Today, Ottawa Valley Grain proudly remains still a family owned and operated business in its fourth generation, where it continues to process specialty grain products including Pot Barley, Pearled Barley, Hulled Barley, Barley Flour, Corn Flour, Corn Meal, Pearled Soft Wheat and Whole Soft Wheat.
