We are a private university owned by a consortium of Malaysia's first 11 public universities, which gives us the unique advantage of leveraging on their prestige and expertise to add value to our wide range of academic programmes. This year (2020) is special as we celebrate 20 years in operation. Since our establishment, we have strived to become the university of choice for part-time studies and provide quality and recognised programmes that emphasise accessibility, affordability and flexibility. Moving forward, we will focus on fully embracing the digital revolution. One of the most exciting initiatives this year is the introduction of micro-credentials, which is a new way of learning that will allow prospective learners to get a sneak peek of courses before deciding to enrol. Various new developments in teaching and learning are also being explored to make learning even more flexible. Very soon, learners can sit for exams whenever they are ready, rather than on a fixed schedule. The University is also looking to provide fully digital learning resources at our Digital Library to make it easier for learners to access learning materials no matter where they are. By the middle of the year, we will also become a cashless society where payments and financial processes at OUM will be done electronically.
