Pacific Metallurgical

Pacific Metallurgical was founded in 1967, but it wasn't until Doug Allan purchased the company in the mid-1970s that the business really began to grow. In 1979, Mr. Allan acquired his first vacuum furnace, making us the first commercial heat treating facility in the Pacific Northwest to offer vacuum atmosphere processing. Today we provide numerous industrial and commercial heat treatment services including; heat treatment of metals, steel heat treatment, aluminum heat treatment, solution heat treatment, etc. The company saw continuous growth throughout the 80s and 90s with the help of Dave Fallen, Mr. Allan's son-in-law. An engineer by trade, Dave took over the company in 1990 and was able to help customers at the manufacturing level by offering advice on material selection and manufacturing sequences, an added service we continue to offer today. The growth experienced over the past 20 years has helped us continually invest in new thermal-process equipment (over 40 furnaces on-site) and technologies, including gas carburizing, gas nitriding, annealing, stress relieving, hardening and tempering, press quenching, and precision straightening. Our onsite laboratory facility was established in 1981 to perform metallographic and microhardness testing. We obtained our NADCAP accreditation in 2003, and pride ourselves on quality assurance and customer service. In 2008 we expanded our heat treating company to include aluminum heat treating. Our facilities operate 24 hours a day, five days a week in an effort to meet delivery schedules and provide complete customer satisfaction. Now under the leadership of Derek Fallen, Dave's son, Pacific Metallurgical company has a management team with over 300 years of combined experience in the heat treating industry. Pacific Metallurgical heat treaters are committed to heat treating industry involvement and education. Many of our employees are actively involved in professional societies and standards committees. Pacific Metallurgical is active in the following Standards Committees:
