In June 2013 Paragon began operating as an investment company with a highly experienced team focused on emerging market agribusiness. The Directors intend initially to seek to acquire a direct and/or an indirect interest in projects and businesses in the agricultural sector including both operating, cash generative businesses as well as greenfield projects. The Company's primary focus is on palm oil, rice, cocoa and rubber opportunities in Africa. The Company has placed itself in the heart of a sector and geography that has enormous potential for growth not only in production and processing but also where the demand for basic food and non-food crops will get ever stronger as the population increases. The Directors recognise that this requires not just investment capital but hands-on agribusiness expertise in these emerging markets. It is this combination that the Company seeks to apply in building a high performance agribusiness portfolio.
