Premier Analytical Services now operates at the heart of The Premier Foods Group, the UK's leading food producer. Initially conceived as the research, development and testing centre for the RHM Group (formerly known as Ranks Hovis McDougall and acquired by Premier Foods in March 2007), Lord Rank established the company at High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire in 1963 under the original name of "RHM Research". The name was changed to "RHM Research and Engineering" and then "RHM Technology" but it was finally agreed that "Premier Analytical Services" more appropriately conveyed the scope of services on offer. The expertise available in many specialist areas was very quickly recognised by all sectors of the Food Industry. Demand rapidly grew from organisations outside the parent company for our services in these specialist areas. Premier Analytical Services has now developed into one of the most respected food testing centres in Europe by providing these specialist services, on a strictly confidential basis, to clients both within and outside The Premier Foods Group.
