Patient Studio offers an online patient referral form. The specialist emails a link to his/her referring docs. The doc clicks on the link that brings him/her to the form on our secure website. The doc [or staff member] types in the appropriate information and can actually upload x-rays or clinical photos directly into the form. When completed, the referring doc clicks on "submit" and the specialists gets an instant notification message to the Patient Studio" Inbox," and a pop-up appears on the practice computer screen; a staff member clicks on the pop-up and the form is automatically downloaded to a predetermined folder. If desired, the two docs may discuss the patient in real time by phone or Internet chatting, while both looking at the images. The specialty practices, even before the patient calls, now has the patient contact information and can immediately send them a welcome letter with the link to the forms required for that patient. The online patient referral form is a powerful marketing tool for the specialist. We recommend emailing the link and cover letter once a month to all referring docs and potential referring docs. This should dramatically increase referrals of new patients.
