Payap University

Payap University is a private non-profit institution founded in 1974 by the Church of Christ in Thailand, with a student community from many countries and all faiths. Payap offers undergraduate degrees taught in Thai in nine faculties: Accountancy, Finance and Banking, Business Administration, Economics, Humanities, Law, Nursing, Science, Social Science and Theology. Four undergraduate degrees are taught in English: Computer Information Systems, International Business Management, International Hospitality Management and English Communication. Payap offers Master's programs taught in Thai (Master of Accountancy, Master of Business Administration, Master of Divinity, Master of Arts in Philosophy and Christianity) and in English (Master of Arts in Linguistics, Master of Arts in TESOL, Master of Business Administration in International Business and Master of Divinity). Payap's two libraries house over 140,000 volumes and 2,100 audiovisual forms, and subscribe to 600 periodicals and journals. These resources, in combination with departmental collections, provide full support for the MA and other TESOL programs. Computerized library services include the main catalog and Internet and database searching. Payap has one of the world's largest collections of documentary resources on northern Thailand. A new state-of-the-art library on the Mae Khaow Campus was completed in 2005. Payap has a lively international student community and at present counts some 60 foreign faculty members. The Graduate School is on the Mae Khaow campus - a landscaped park about 4 kilometres from the city centre. Students like its human scale and friendly atmosphere.
