Peak Communications

Peak Communications was formed in 1995 and began by manufacturing the P701 L-Band frequency DownConverter unit. The addition of the P702 UpConverter in 1996 enabled Peak Communications to produce the P700 L-Band Up/DownConverter in a single 1RU package. Over time the product range has increased to include 19" rack mount and remote mount block Up and DownConverters covering the main satellite operating frequencies including S, X, C, Ku, DBS & Ka-Bands. The integration of these block converters into a P700series converter facilitated full frequency conversion from IF to SHF via L-Band. In 2003 the P7000 range of converters was launched to supersede the P700 range, offering enhanced RF performance along with a host of features and a full user interface with remote control. Also included in the standard range of products are test loop translators, beacon receivers, automatic UpLink power controllers, line amplifiers, splitters/ combiners, multi-channel gain control and redundant switch systems. A key to the growth of Peak's business has been the flexibility to produce custom built equipment based around RF technology. Whilst Peak Communications has a range of industry accepted standard products a large percentage of sales have been achieved through the design and manufacture of 'bespoke' customer specified equipment, including signal conditioners, switching systems, redundant amplifiers, custom frequency converters and earth station monitoring systems. ISO9001 procedures were adopted when the company started in 1995 and continue today with formal accreditation being obtained in 2000. Peak Communications supplies products to both the commercial and military satellite communication and telecommunication markets. Having an impressive client base in the fixed teleport, transportable satellite news gathering (SNG) and security/ defence sectors. The current customer base includes major broadcasters and telecommunications providers worldwide along with numerous defence agencies.
