A. is a Venezuelan state petrochemical company engaged in the production and sale of petrochemical products, including fertilizers, industrial chemical products, olefins and plastic resins. The company owns the Morón, Ana María Campos and José Antonio Anzoátegui petrochemical complexes in Carabobo, Zulia and Anzoátegui states, as well as three business units (industrial products, olefins and plastics, and fertilizers) and various subsidiaries. Pequiven was founded in 1977, taking over the operations of Instituto Venezolano de Petroquímica, which was created in 1955. The company, an independent corporate subsidiary of state oil firm PDVSA, operates under the authority of the country's energy and mines ministry, and is headquartered in Valencia in Carabobo state.
