PETERSON

The Peterson Company is a family-owned and operated food importer and distributor based in Auburn, Washington. The company began in the 1940's as an importer of Scandinavian cheeses in the Queen Anne neighborhood of Seattle. Over time, the business expanded to meet a growing awareness and demand for a larger variety of imported specialty cheeses from Europe. In the 1980's, the owners moved the company to Auburn where they currently operate a state-of-the-art warehouse and production facility. Today, the Peterson Company is a leading importer of European specialty food products (cheeses, meats, and other items). They are a major regional food distributor in the Northwest and service many regional and national accounts across the US. They own over 180,000 square feet of warehouse and office space with two locations employing just over 250 people in Washington and New Jersey.
