Flaherty's Irish Bar
Gerry called the pub Flaherty's after one of his favourite stories from back home. Gerry is still at the helm although other members of the family now take the lead on the day to day. What's in the name? Paddy Flaherty was an enigmatic whiskey salesman from County Cork who travelled all over the Emerald Isle after joining the Cork Distilleries Company in 1882. It wasn't long before his unparalleled warmth, banter with customers and reputation for buying a round of the whiskey he was selling; put him on his way to becoming, probably, the bestselling whiskey sales rep of all time. So good in fact, that in 1913 his employers renamed the whiskey he was selling - after him! Our Flaherty's pubs are still about making people feel good the Flaherty's way. Rich characters with a love of life providing great service with delicious food and drink and easy to view sports served up at a great price. Gerry and his family have gone on to grow the Flaherty's brand and it remains a true Irish family pub to this day. You'll find a Flaherty's just off the Ramblas in the centre of Barcelona and in San Antonio, Ibiza; they also have a sister pub in Barcelona called Shenanigans Irish Pub, which under a previous name was the first Irish Pub to be opened in Barcelona.
