The beach on Ao Chaloklum bay is about two and a half kilometres long. The main village of Chaloklum is right in the centre of the bay and still primarily acts as a fishing village. Local Thai fishermen keep their longtail boats here at Chaloklum pier and create the scenery of wonderfully colorful handcrafted boats. Mae Had Bay is also a famous local dive site - many dive companies on Kho PhaNgan offer snorkelling and scuba diving trips to the nearby island of Koh Ma, which has a stunning coral reef. It is also possible to beach dive and swim out to the reef from the shore for snorkelling.
