Penn High School

In a nutshell, the Penn PTO was established to: 1) provide an opportunity for parents, school administrators, teachers, and staff to communicate and exchange concerns and ideas to benefit the student body; 2) promote a positive, collaborative, on-going relationship between students, administration, parents, teachers, and staff for the enrichment of the education of Penn High School students; 3) proactively and positively promote the enhancement of academic, extra-curricular, and social opportunities for students at Penn High School; and 4) provide funding, supplies, volunteers, and sponsorship for various school-related activities. Being involved is a great way to make new friends and to learn more about what goes on in the lives of your kids during the school day. We encourage parents to donate some time to Penn High School. Our involvement emphasizes the importance of school and community to our students and demonstrates our investment in their education and extracurricular activities. Our PTO does not collect any dues; we only ask that you volunteer a few hours of your time during the school year. Some people are afraid that if they volunteer, they'll be sucked into a black hole of time commitment from which they cannot escape. Our PTO is not a black hole and we appreciate any time that you can give. If we can get enough volunteers, hopefully everyone only has to do a little, but as a group we can do a lot to help the students and staff. If you are interested in giving a few hours of your time, please contact PTO or complete and return the Penn Volunteer Application Form to the school. Your thoughts and input all help to make our school the best it can be. Are there things that you are concerned about here at Penn? Do you have issues or ideas? Would you like to share positive feedback about our teachers, administration, classes, or procedures? At our monthly meetings, information from the principal is given personally and you have the opportunity to ask questions. If you have any questions, please contact Penn PTO President Chris Whitmire at [email protected] or phone 968-9609 to reach the Penn PTO voicemail.
