Pickens Construction

Pickens Construction

Since 1946, Pickens Construction has been in the road construction industry. The company was founded by the Pickens brothers, Harold Pickens, Sr. and Fred Pickens. Fred Pickens sold his interest in the company to Harold Pickens, Sr. in 1948. From 1948 through 1956, the company specialized in highway construction jobs. After Harold Pickens, Jr. (Drew) joined the firm in 1956, Pickens Construction discontinued grading and highway construction to specialize in utility construction. Harold Pickens, Sr. died in 1961 and his three sons took over management of the company. Since then, the company has expanded its road construction services to include grading, storm drainage, concrete curb, milling, crushing, thermo striping, asphalt sealing, stone base, and paving. Today, Pickens Construction, Inc. is owned by William B. Pickens, Jr., who has been employed with the company since 1985.
