Queen Alexandra Hospital

The Department of Critical Care at Queen Alexandra Hospital provides all level 2 (HDU) and level 3 (Intensive care) facilities within Portsmouth. We have 15 intensive care consultants who are available 24 hours a day every day of the year. We submit data to the Intensive Care National Audit and Research Centre (ICNARC). This includes our unit case mix, length of ICU and hospital stay, infection rates and mortality. Our department consistently has one of the lowest standardised mortality ratios in the country.
