Potsdam Coop

The Potsdam Co-op is a member-owned natural foods consumer cooperative where everyone is welcome to shop and anyone can join. While we carry many of the items that customers typically purchase on a weekly basis, we also offer a large variety of quality specialty products that are not available in ordinary supermarkets. The Co-op was established in 1973 and has been growing to meet the changing needs of the North Country ever since. Now in its fifth location, the Co-op remains a locally-owned business whose members volunteer to work alongside paid staff to keep the shelves stocked and the store running. Although everyone is welcome to shop at the Co-op, the strength and the health of the store depends on a strong membership base. Membership unites us with hundreds of area families who believe in and support the Co-op as a successful shopping alternative. The Co-op is dedicated to supporting and encouraging the idea of a sustainable local economy. Through partnerships with numerous local farmers and artisans we are able feature a wide selection of local goods that have been produced using environmentally-friendly practices. We are actively engaged in the community as we support local organizations, work to raise environmental and nutritional awareness, and strive to live locally.
