We also provide primary health care in many of the assisted living and adult care homes in Tucson. Providers Direct fills a unique role in the health care system that no other medical group provides. We provide comprehensive health care services across the continuum of care. We provide primary health care not only in our centrally located clinic, but also across the healthcare spectrum. As the needs of our patients change, we are able to continue to follow them in private homes, assisted living and adult care homes, and nursing homes. Geographically, we cover all of Tucson from Ina Road to Valencia and Vail. Our group initially started by providing services to frail and disabled patients in their homes. It is very difficult for many to get out to see medical providers. It can easily turn into a day long affair that leaves the patient tired and worn out. Especially in our summer heat, outings like this can be dangerous for our patients. So rather than having the home bound patient come to the medical provider, we go to them. The nurse practitioners were asked repeatedly to provide medical care to the caregivers and family members of our patients. As a result, we established a clinic setting for those people who needed primary care but were not home bound. Our clinic has grown to the point where we had to establish our own office. We now provide services in the clinic 5 days a week. We participate in the Pima County Access Program (PCAP) that provides discounts to uninsured individuals. We also offer a VERY reasonable cash discount program for our uninsured patients.
