The Foundation's Ecological Excursions are one-of-a-kind experience; you won't find anything like them in the Punta Cana region. Please Contact Us to make reservations or to get further details on any of our Ecological Excursions. Join the Segway Eco Tours for an exciting ride on an environmentally friendly Segway. After a brief lesson on a segway, the excursion leaves from the Ecological Foundation's Tropical Fruit Tree Garden and explores the trails of the Indigenous Eyes Ecological Park and Reserve, winding through the PUNTACANA Resort & Club and ending with a refreshing dip in the freshwater lagoon, Yauya. This is one of the most exciting and ecologically responsible ways to discover the natural wonders of the Ecological Foundation. Led by our knowledgeable and experienced guides, you will be led on a fascinating walking Guided Ecological Tour of the natural and cultural history of the island of Hispaniola. The tour begins in our traditional Dominican Ranch and Petting Zoo and continues to exhibits of a traditional Dominican "conuco" or family farm. From there, you will visit a sugar cane exhibit complete with a "trapiche" used to extract the sugar cane juice from the cane and on to our Rhinoceros Iguana Conservation Program. After visits to the Ecological Foundation's innovative worm compost and beekeeping projects, guests will wind through the trails of the Indigenous Eyes Ecological Park and Reserve, ending at the Guama lagoon for a refreshing swim. On this guided visit you will learn about the flora and fauna of the island, the unique cultural history of the Dominican people and their indigenous ancestors, and much more. Our traditional Dominican horse ranch, "Rancho Punta Cana" is the perfect place to begin a Horseback Trail Ride. You will ride along lush forest trails and in front of one of the most beautiful beaches in the Dominican Republic, the exclusive Playa Serena.
