The Queens Hotel

The Queens Hotel and Spa has now been privately owned by the Gordon family for five years, a team of five strong, professional and passionate people who in that time have noticeably increased The Queens sterling reputation. The Gordon family are also delighted to introduce the arrival of a new generation, Sophia Gabrielle Gordon, born on the 16th October 2010 to James and Layla Gordon. In April 2011 the Gordon's were pleased to welcome Daniel Marsh as General Manger to the hotel. Daniel, who has a lifetime of experience in the hotel industry, joins the family owned Queens Hotel & Spa in his second General Manager post. Commenting on his appointment, Daniel said "I am delighted to be working for the Gordon family and joining an excellent team. The Queens Hotel & Spa will continue to be an ideal venue for a banquet, wedding, meeting or Sunday Lunch". The previous General Manager David Burr still remains an integral part of the hotel since taking on the role of Business Executive in April 2011. David has been associated with The Queens for more than 20 years and now looks after his large and loyal client base as well as seeking new additional business. David's clientele continue to return to The Queens Hotel year after year for various functions and events. Another notable member of the team is the Executive Chef Will Summerall who has been working at The Queens Hotel since 1983. Will continues to produce food to a very high standard and we are delighted to pride ourselves on our table d'hote menu offered in Alexander's restaurant that can cater for up to 220 guests. The hotel has developed phenomenally over the past five years. A large refurbishment programme has been in place modernising the bar area, reception and bedrooms with the addition of a wet-room for guests with mobility needs. The refurbishment of the hotel is ongoing with a planned maintenance programme and as of November 2011 our large conference and banqueting facilities that can hold up to 450 delegates have been re-decorated. Behind the scenes a large investment has been made in the boilers and heating systems making The Queens Hotel more energy efficient and responsible to the environment. Launched in 2009 by Hollie Gordon and now one of the largest, most successful day spas in Bournemouth, Forever Gorgeous at The Queens Hotel offers six relaxing treatment rooms, a luxury lounge and plays host too many glamorous hen parties and private functions. Take a look at the website for more details. This year Julie Dugan also joined the Sales and Marketing team to work on new business development and is the editor of our quarterly Newsletter. Julie also regularly updates our Facebook page and Blog with all the exciting news and events at the hotel so be sure to check them out! At The Queens Hotel and Spa you can expect a warm welcome, helpful staff and excellent food. Jane Gordon uses her eye for detail and extensive interior design knowledge to give the hotel a relaxed and friendly feel that appeals to all ages, making The Queens Hotel and Spa a home-from-home experience.
