Rawson Materials
Rawson Materials, a quality aggregate producer, was founded by Richard Rawson in 1947 with its original location on Munyan Road in Putnam, Connecticut (Plant #1). In 1971, Richard's son, Allan, graduated from Nichols College in Dudley, Massachusetts and began his full-time employment with the company. In 1980, Rawson Materials opened its second location on Town Farm Road in Putnam, Connecticut (Plant #2), added a fleet of trucks (Rawson Trucking) in 1986, and then opened another location on Black Hill Road in Plainfield, Connecticut (Plant #4) in 1997. In 2001, Allan's son, Jeffrey, graduated from Assumption College in Worcester, Massachusetts and began his full-time employment with the company, becoming the 3rd generation to manage Rawson Materials. The company has since added locations on Norwich Road in Plainfield, Connecticut (Plant #5) in 2006, on Wauregan Road in Canterbury, Connecticut (Plant #3) in 2012, and on Reardon Road in Thompson, CT (Plant #6) also in 2012.
