Ready-to-Roll, one of the largest model train stores in Florida, also collaborated on the project. This full-line, full-service model railroad supply store has five operating layouts and the largest selection in the South. Mike Wolf of MTH Electric Trains selected Ready-to-Roll to design and build his company's showroom layout in Maryland. Like many model train enthusiasts, store owner Bill Lucas had a model train set as a kid, but forgot about the hobby once into his teens. For 25 years in fact, Lucas's trade was not in model trains, but in custom furniture. Ready-to-Roll's North Miami showroom is, in fact, is the former location of Lucas Custom Cabinet. Lucas became reacquainted with model trains in 1989 when a customer asked him to assemble a set in his living room; Lucas then decided to dedicate a section of the store to model trains. Sales of the model trains in the first four months of 1990 eclipsed the revenue that Lucas made from cabinets that entire year, and soon Ready-to-Roll was born.
