Restaurant Serenade
Opened in 1996, at 6 Roosevelt Ave. in Chatham, N.J, James and Nancy Sheridan Laird's Restaurant Serenade www.restaurantserenade.com presents exquisitely light French-influenced food to discriminating guests. "A serenade is an evening love song, and when you watch James in the kitchen, you can see how much love he puts into his food," said Nancy. "So the name ‘Serenade' made sense to us both." The restaurant, which seats 100 guests in a bright and sunny space, features a two-story Palladian window in the central dining room, with a fireplace in the dining space and another in the cozy bar, and contemporary artwork handpicked by the owners. A private dining room that seats 30 is also available. Respondents to a Zagat's Survey published June 1, 2005 called Restaurant Serenade, "magnificent," "fabulous from start to finish," with "breathtaking" food, an "incredible wine list," "understated service," in a "magical setting." All in all, said Zagat's, this one will "impress" "even people from the big city."
