We travel here and back every day because of the incredible soils and micro-climate - think 1 metre deep volcanic ash over 10 metres of ancient river shingles - all 50 metres above the dynamic Waipaoa river. The encircling mountain ranges create a mini continental climate - hot, dry summers and cold, frosty winters - it doesn't get any better than this for our babies! "
