Norwood & Associates is a home based business operated by Jim & Susan Norwood. We are a business development and consulting company with the goal to assist in the start-up of a new venture or take an existing business to that next step. We have worked in many areas of the business world and know we have the ability and connections to assist with the day to day issues of running a business. There is no worse feeling than having operational or financial concerns and the feeling of not having anywhere to turn for help. That's why we started Norwood & Associates, we are a call away. Jim Norwood is the Marketing Director for the Newcastle & District Chamber Of Commerce. He volunteers his time to help it's members promote their businesses. You wouldn't trust just anyone with coaching your business...Norwood I! Norwood and Associates is actually an extension of Clarington Small Business Development Group. I started this group in the fall of 2012. We still operate CSBDG and are very proud of the accomplishments the group has achieved. Our background is a combination of Corporate, Home-based Business, Franchised Retail and Community Service. We have a combined total of 85 years in various aspects of the business world and have gained many insights. We have made the right choices and the not so right choices. The one thing about operating a consulting business is the numerous business people you have crossed paths with over the years are invaluable as a referral source when working with the broad range of businesses out there. No one person can be all things to all people which makes the Associates part of our business extremely important. My working journey has been diverse to say the least. At the age of 16 when I was blessed with knowing everything and certainly more than teachers or parents I quit school and started working at Eaton's as a stock boy, worked up to a department manager within a couple of years. I worked at a variety of jobs, following the bigger pay check, driving truck, shipper and finally realized I needed to go back to school. After completing school I was offered a Management Training position with TD Bank I spent a total of 24 years with TD and learned many aspects in the finance and marketing/sales areas from them. Susan and I operated a couple of home based businesses and eventually owned a retail franchise for 13 years. Susan's experience is in the administrative side of the business; she is the organizer, the work flow/set up person. We are both fortunate to be retired and our goal is to assist budding entrepreneurs in either getting started in this world of self-employment or helping those that are in the trenches and need some assistance in either digging out or taking their venture to the next step.
