Rodeo Houston

RodeoHouston is one of the most-attended events in Houston. Total attendance for the entire 2019 event was nearly 2.51 million, the second-highest of the past five years. However, RodeoHouston ran for an extra day in 2019. The record of more than 2.61 million was set in 2017, a typical 20-day season. The massive RodeoHouston event aims to promote agriculture, educate and entertain the public, support Texas youth, showcase Western heritage and provide educational support. Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo has committed more than $500 million to the youth of Texas and education since it started in 1932. Despite Covid-19, the rodeo's total educational commitment for the 2021 season was more than $21.69 million. After RodeoHouston's 2020 event ended early and its 2021 event was canceled outright due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the organization has already started solidifying plans for 2022. Next year's event will be held at NRG Park from Monday, Feb. 28, through Sunday, March 20, one day longer than usual.
