Royal Torarica Hotel

Royal Torarica Hotel

Royal Torarica is part of the oldest hotel chain in Suriname; the Torarica Group of Hotels. The hotel is the only four star plus hotel in the country and by far the most luxurious hotel in Suriname. The hotel was designed by the American architect Lane Pettigrew. The tower of the Ministry of Finance located at the Independence Square in the city of Paramaribo served as important inspiration for the design. Although the floor plan of the hotel was finished in 1995-1996, the construction did not start until 2006. The hotel was carefully designed and styled with a remarkable eye for detail to accommodate well-traveled high-end business travelers. Master art pieces of famous artists of Surinamese origin and modern features combined with a colonial touch are some of the distinctive characteristics of this hotel, aimed at providing luxurious accommodation and services of the highest quality to its guests. Constructing a pool using only saltwater in our beautifully landscaped garden is just one of the many ways we implement our environmentally friendly policy. It has been our honour and pleasure to accommodate some of the most distinguished guests in our exclusive Presidential Suite, located on the top floor of the hotel. The hotel is also famous for organizing the very popular Masked Mall; a yearly event that takes place in December and attracts both international and local visitors.
