Royal Tropicana Hotels Limited was established in 1980 in the name of Fellowship Catering Limited. By its Board Resolution in 1987 it changed the name to De-friendship Catering Services Limited and by a Special Resolution of the Board of Directors in 2003 it again changed its name to become Royal Tropicana Hotels Limited. It started operations in December 1980 as a Restaurant located at N0 17-19 Niger Street Kano. It was commissioned by the then Dutch Ambassador to Nigeria Mr. C.J.M Kramer in view of the establishments' connection with some Dutch citizens. The main objectives of Royal Tropicana Hotels Limited like its parent company is to provide first class Hotel and Catering Services and also act as booster to Tourism development in Nigeria. Since its inception, Royal Tropicana Hotels Ltd has made impact in the Hospitality industry and it has become a household name in the Hotel and Catering Services Nationwide. The Company now manages a chain of Hotels and Motels in view of its leading role in the industry in Kano and the country. That the Company has grown and expanded within the last 34 years is as a result of the dynamic leadership of its Chief Executive - Alhaji Abdullahi Aliyu, who has been an experienced administrator having worked with Unilever Nigeria Plc for 16 years and risen to the post of Field Sales Controller, North, before voluntarily withdrawing his services to face full time catering business. The Company has a Management Team made up of seasoned professionals as Heads of Departments. The company believes in training and re-training of its personnel and spends a lot of its resources in this regard in order to remain relevant in the industry.
