Residential Support Services

Residential Support Services

Residential Support Services is a private non-profit corporation for persons with developmental disabilities. Our sole purpose is to help our residents become more independent in the community. Staff working in the homes are CPR and First Aid certified. We do criminal background checks and drug testing on all employees that we hire. Staff are also required to take training courses offered by the corporation to help them in acquiring skills to perform their duties in the group home. Staff are required to help the residents with their daily living and hygiene skills. Our corporation started in 1974 with two group homes and we have grown to sixteen group homes. Our homes are located throughout Billings, Montana and house between one and eight residents in each home. We serve approximately 82 residents and have a staff of about 150 individuals working several different shifts in the homes. We have 24-hour staff in the homes. The residents go to day programs or jobs during the day. We have one day program (Options) that we started within our corporation and there are four other day programs provided by other corporations. We also offer the opportunity to some of our residents to remain in their homes during the day instead of being transported to a day program. We do provide transportation services for our residents. All residents in our homes receive Social Security to pay their Board and Room charges. Each resident has a Cost Plan developed for them by their Case Manager. Residential Support Services contracts with the Department of Health and Human Services to use the funds from their Cost Plan to provide the services they receive in the group homes.
