Ruhrverband

The Ruhrverband is a public water management company with headquarter in Essen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. They are responsible for the water quantity and reservoir management, handling of floods, wastewater treatment and disposal of the resulting residues. In the catchment area of almost 4,500 square kilometers, the company controls and maintains over 300 kilometers of sewers and pressure pipelines. The Ruhrverband also operates 13 lakes and water reservoirs and 64 sewage treatment plants. The company ensures the water supply for 4.6 million people and the treatment of wastewater for 60 cities and municipalities.
