Safety Railway Service

Safety Railway Service was established in Victoria Texas in 1972 on the former Aloe Field Air Force Training Base. The shop has an experienced work force that has provided a full range of services for the private sector, petrochemical company railcar owner, rail fleet managers and shippers. In early 2005 the assets of Safety Railway Service changed to private ownership. Since then, our company has embarked on a new era, committed to providing the highest level of service and expertise in our industry. The Main SRS Shop is located 130 miles southwest of Houston, in Victoria, Texas. SRS is serviced by the Union Pacific Railroad. SRS Victoria has over 34,000 feet of track on 200 acres of land with approximately 60 acres covered in concrete. The company operates with approximately 150 employees in the Victoria shop and in various satellite locations across Texas and seven other states. The shop is certified by the Association of American Railroads to perform tank car qualifications and major wreck repairs in addition to various other railcar repair services that are required by our customers. Additional railcar maintenance is also provided for some of our customers at their plant sites and shops. We refer to this segment of our business as the in-plant service group. Within this department SRS currently operates mini-shop/mobiles in the following states: Texas, (Victoria, Orange and Channelview) West Virginia, Tennessee, (Memphis and New Johnsonville) Kentucky, Virginia, Louisiana, (Belle Chasse and Saint Gabriel), Indiana and Pennsylvania.
