Windlass Consulting

President John Marks and his family immigrated from England in the 1950s. He received a B.A. in Government from UMass Amherst in 1967 where he learned programming. He received his Ph.D. from Syracuse University and taught Political Science and computer programming at Oakland University in Rochester Michigan in the early and middle 1970s. He left academia and moved to Boston in 1975, where he began his career in software engineering. The Windlass logo represents an 18th century ships anchor windlass. Windlass Consulting, Inc.
