Double Take
At Double Take, it's basically a folk art market every day. Owner, staff, and consignors are knowledgeable collectors and vendors of quality folk art. We are a destination for collectors, and we regularly sell fine examples of Huipils, Serapes, fine folk art jewelry from Bolivia, Ecuador and Mexico. It goes without saying, we are a top spot for local folk art traditions: pottery, basketry, silver and turquoise jewelry, Zuni fetishes, beadwork, Native American to Central American. We proudly feature the work of career craftspeople: from William Spratling silver to Ortega's Chimayo rugs, to famous Lovato and Aguilar families from the last several decades. ...And then there's the local Spanish traditions: countless hand painted Mexican skirts, pottery, religious arts and crafts of many kinds (including antique South American religious metal and silver altar décor), Santos, textiles, embroidered Bolivian tunics and jackets, and we're just scratching the surface. We don't just care about folk art. We care about folk artists too. Over the decades we have developed relationships with local and international artisans of many kinds - we proudly offer them a venue and a showplace for their fine life's work. So come on folks - enjoy the folk art experience everyday with us.
